One of the surprising joys of my time at St Andrews has been teaching the Sunday school class for 6-12 year- olds. It has been fun and enlightening to explore the faith with them.
The other day I asked the class a question: what is the difference between knowledge and wisdom? The answer I got was better than anything I could have ever come up with. A nine-year-old girl answered: knowledge is understanding the map that tells you how to climb up a mountain. Wisdom is climbing the mountain.
With respect to our theological knowledge, may we all grow in wisdom!
