SEMINARY NEWS: The Wilderness is blossoming!

Many of you are aware of the wilderness-like experience we have had at ESEPA over the past year as the institution has struggled with leadership transitions. Well, I am happy to report, borrowing from Isaiah (35.1), that the desert is now blooming! Our new rector, Dr. Gary Shogren, in a short time has done a wonderful job of re-establishing unity among the faculty. He has also created a strong sense of stability and provided clear direction that has made a notable difference on our campus.

In addition, and perhaps because of the stability Dr. Shogren has established, ESEPA has just been awarded two hefty donations. The first donation will enable us to build dormitories on campus. This has been something we have wanted to do for some ten years. Having dorms will mean attracting even more students from Central and South America. It will also give professors and students the opportunity to live together in community.

The second donation will go towards developing our on-line program, ESEP@ Virtual. Given this generous donation, ESEPA hopes to be able to offer the entire program on-line by 2008, allowing us to minister to any Spanish-speaker in the world who desires theological education and who has access to an internet connection.

Praise God for these recent developments!
